Description
Lisa’s paintings explore the relationship between natural and human environments and how we perceive them. An early memory of hers is walking with her parents to a river bank, sitting with their feet in the cold creek. The allure of life forms, sounds and smells of both above and below the water transported her into an entirely other, secret place. She’s constantly revisiting that experience in her paintings--a moment of slippage and surprise, a glitch of beauty in an unexpected place.
